Rice Pilaf

Preparation time: 1/2 hour

What you need for 4 persons:

– 1 1/2 cups, 10 oz (300 g) rice
– 3 cups, 20 oz (600 ml) water
– 5 tbsp, 2.50 oz (75 g) butter
– Salt, pepper

– In a large sauté pan, caramelize the onion with butter, on fairly high heat.

– Add the rice and stir rice and onions during 20 seconds.
– Then add water, salt and pepper.

– Cover for 20 minutes at low heat.

– When it is done, it should look like this:

You can serve the rice pilaf with beef (filet mignon for example) and a glass of Cabernet-Sauvignon.
